Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child

Since 1993, more than 100 million boys and girls in over 130 countries have experienced God’s love through the power of simple shoebox gifts from Operation Christmas Child. Samaritan’s Purse works with local churches and ministry partners to deliver the gifts and share the life-changing Good News of Jesus Christ.

Items for February:  Bar soap, hairbrushes, combs, and toys. Any box item is always welcome. There is a new display board in the foyer of church. It has suggested items displayed and will be changed out periodically. There is a list of items that are acceptable and not acceptable in the back of the box on the counter. Thank you for all the blessings you pass on to these children.

Citrus County Blessings

The Citrus County Blessings Program provides weekend meals for children on the federal school breakfast and lunch assisted-meals program. Many of these children would go without a meal from Friday until they return to school on Monday without the food provided by Citrus County Blessings. The Blessing program currently serves 1450 students in 18 Citrus County Schools-FBC focuses on 2 schools, Pleasant Grove Elementary and Inverness Primary. Please keep the peanut butter and jelly coming in plastic containers to the treasure box in the FBC foyer. School will be starting soon, please remember the less fortunate children of our community by keeping PB & J on your grocery list and the children on your prayer list.

Compassion International

Compassion International is an organization that provides support for children in foreign countries through child sponsors. They partner with local churches in those countries to help the children in their area. Compassion International provides an education, food, health support (such as immunizations and hygiene education), education for families, and more. Best of all, the lessons are faith based and these children learn about Jesus! As a church we have many areas of ministry, such as the deacon and youth ministry that sponsors a child through compassion as well as dozens of individual members who do as well. Also, through out the year we have raised money for water filtration systems to go to villages and towns who desperately need clean water. Your tax-deductible contribution of just $38 a month connects a child living in poverty with a loving, church-based Child Sponsorship Program.

Compassion Sundayhas come and gone, but you may still sponsor a child by clicking on the Compassion International picture below.
