Byron Brown
Lead Pastor
“I want to be a radical follower of Jesus Christ! And I want our church to be united in our love for Christ and compassion for others! It is my prayer that FBC Inverness be known as a grace-filled body of believers that lives out the Greatest Commandments while fulfilling the Great Commission.”
Born and raised in Southwestern Oklahoma, Byron is hopelessly determined to be a Sooners fan. Although he holds degrees from the University of Oklahoma (BA, Sociology), the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (MDiv, Pastoral Ministry), and the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (DMin, Expository Preaching), he considers his greatest achievement marrying his college sweetheart, Kim. Byron and Kim have three terrific children, Will, David, and Elizabeth. If you can’t find him at the church office, most likely he is hanging out with his family.
Byron’s ministry experience includes pastorates in Indiana, Kansas, Texas, and Florida. Joining the staff as Senior Pastor in May 2016, Byron brings a passion for preaching God’s Word. Strongly involved in missions, Pastor Byron has preached and taught in numerous countries. He loves to lead mission teams to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ both locally and globally.
Byron considers it an honor to serve at FBC Inverness and to partner with such an extraordinary ministry team!
