Missions

The Mission opportunities at FBC Inverness range from overseas mission trips to missions right here in Florida. In addition to participating in missions, FBC Inverness also supports Missionaries in the state of Florida and around the world by participating in the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions, the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for North American Missions, the Maquire State Mission Offering for Florida Missions.

The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world. Through this project, Samaritan’s Purse partners with the local church worldwide to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and make disciples of the nations.
We collect donations all year for shoeboxes to be sent in November to children around the world. Our Packing Party takes place in November. Volunteers meet each Thursday from Noon to 3:00 pm to work on the shoeboxes. Please call the church office at 352-726-1252 or email info@fbcinverness.com for more information.
THE OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD PACKING PARTY WILL BE WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 23RD.
 THE DAYTIME PACKING PARTY WILL BE FROM 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM. 
THE NIGHTTIME PACKING PARTY WILL BE FROM 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.

The Ministry of Warmth meets every Thursday from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall to crochet and knit. They make items such as hats and lap robes for the Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes, to be sent to missionaries, and for local projects. If you know how to knit or crochet, or you would like to learn, you are welcome to attend Ministry of Warmth.

The mission of the Quilt Ministry of First Baptist Church of Inverness is to cover each person with the Warmth, Peace and Love of Jesus Christ. If you quilt or are interested in learning how to make quilts, they would love for you to join them.  They meet once a month on the third Tuesday of the month from 9:00 am to around 2:30 pm. They meet in the space between the sanctuary and the choir room.

One of our local mission projects is (I-Serve). It is usually organized twice a year in the Fall and Spring. During these service times, we look in and out of the church for people who need help. Whether it  be yard work, indoor cleaning, or even just going to visit someone who's been lonely or out of touch. We take this time to focus and help our Inverness community, showing Christ's love through our actions.
